Build It Once. Build It Right.

Stainless steel is the finest outdoor cabinetry money can buy — the sleek, modern, built-for-life choice that you install once and never think about replacing. We build with both of America's premier manufacturers, and we'll tell you the honest truth about living with it in Florida.

Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen Cabinets

Stainless steel is the most expensive outdoor kitchen cabinet finish — and the longest-lasting.

Built from marine-grade stainless with welded seams and available in powder coat colors, it's engineered to never need replacing.

Maintenance is genuinely very low: the material itself asks for nothing to survive salt air, sun, and storms. The honest caveat for Florida homeowners is appearance, not durability — humidity makes dust and grime cling to bare polished stainless, so keeping it showroom-shiny takes regular wiping.

Powder coated colors are somewhat easier to keep clean, though they don't hide dust either.

HL Posey Builders designs and installs cabinetry from both John Michael Kitchens and Danver, two of the largest stainless outdoor cabinetry manufacturers in the USA.

Everything we design, build, and install in your backyard kitchen takes into consideration the quality of materials and quality of manufacturing processes.

Why Stainless Steel Is the Ultimate Finish

This is the finish you choose when you're done choosing:

  • It outlives everything. Marine-grade stainless doesn't rot, warp, burn, or fade. Installed right, it's a lifetime product.

  • It's real cabinetry. Doors, drawers, appliance cabinets, wall cabinets — engineered like your indoor kitchen, built for outdoors.

  • Sleek and contemporary, or softened with color. Clean modern lines in bare stainless, or dozens of powder coat colors to match any design.

  • Nothing structural to maintain. No sealing, no painting, no refinishing, ever.

Think about your indoor kitchen. You didn't buy it planning to replace it in a few years. Stainless is that decision, made outdoors.

There are two Made In The USA brands that truly stand out. John Michael Kitchens™ and Danver™. They manufacture the absolute highest quality stainless steel outdoor cabinetry available.

John Michael Kitchens™

John Michael Kitchens™ builds handcrafted marine-grade stainless cabinetry — and in our experience they're exceptional from the first contact until we snap the photos of the finished kitchen. If your style runs to clean, sleek lines or a contemporary shaker look, this is your cabinetry.

The John Michael difference:

  • 316L marine-grade stainless outside, 304 stainless inside — the marine-grade exterior is the corrosion standard for coastal Florida

  • All seams welded and polished — no pop rivets or dimple rivets

  • 14 and 18 gauge stainless — thicker, heavier material (remember: the smaller the gauge number, the thicker the steel)

  • Weather seals on doors and drawers — keep bugs, frogs, and weather out

  • Many powder coat colors  — tough finishes, not paint or oxides that scratch and peel

  • Stainless steel adjustable leveling legs — not plastic

  • Vox vent hoods by John Michael — custom hoods in a wide range of signature colors and metallic finishes, so your hood matches your kitchen

John Michael has since expanded into indoor kitchen cabinetry as well — the same handcrafted metal cabinetry, inside and out.

We want to help you find the finishes that define your style while shooting for the least maintenance and eliminating the need for repairs for

years if not decades to come.

Danver

Danver™ has been the leader in engineered stainless steel outdoor cabinetry for over 20 years, and the range is remarkable: dozens of cabinet styles in hundreds of sizes, so almost any layout is buildable.

What Danver brings:

  • Powder coated stainless engineered for the harshest conditions with minimal maintenance, in a wide selection of colors and door styles

  • The deepest cabinet catalog — base, grill, wall, corner, and tall cabinets, plus specialty appliance cabinets for pizza ovens, power burners, ceramic/kamado smokers, warming drawers, and bartender stations

  • The Urbane collection — a door style designed with architect Daniel Germani, drawing on heritage European kitchens for visual contrast between framing and center panels

  • The Cosmopolitan collection — powder coated stainless on an aluminum frame, including outdoor kitchen tables and options built for induction cooking where a grill isn't practical

  • Post and Panel systems, floating shelves, carts, and accessories to build a complete outdoor living space, not just a run of cabinets

When it comes to building your dream backyard, selecting high-quality materials is essential to ensure a lasting, beautiful outdoor living space.

The Honest Truth About Stainless Outdoor Cabinetry in Florida

We tell every client the good, the bad, and the ugly before they spend a dollar. Here's the part nobody else will tell you.

Maintenance and housekeeping are two different things. Structurally, stainless is the lowest-maintenance finish we offer — the material needs nothing from you to survive salt air, sun, and storms for decades. That claim is real.

But keeping bare polished stainless looking pristine in Florida takes effort. Our humidity makes dust and grime cling to the surface, so a shiny stainless kitchen shows every water spot, fingerprint, and bit of dust between wipe-downs. It's not a defect and it's not a durability problem — it's simply what polished metal does in this climate.

Powder coated colors are somewhat easier to keep clean, and they're what we often steer Florida clients toward. Be clear-eyed, though: powder coat doesn't hide dust and dirt either. No stainless kitchen is a set-it-and-forget-it showpiece here.

If you want the finest, longest-lasting cabinetry made and you don't mind a regular wipe-down to keep it gleaming, stainless is unbeatable. If you'd rather your kitchen look great with less attention, tile or NatureKast may serve you better — and we'll say so.

If your style includes clean, sleek lines or the contemporary feel from a shaker design, stainless steel cabinetry is the right stuff for you.

QUESTIONS ABOUT STAINLESS STEEL OUTDOOR KITCHENS

Stainless Steel Outdoor Kitchen FAQ

  • Is stainless steel the best material for outdoor kitchen cabinets?

For longevity, yes. Marine-grade stainless won't rot, warp, burn, or fade, and it's built to never need replacing. It's also the most expensive finish, and in humid climates it takes regular wiping to keep its shine.

  • How much does stainless steel outdoor cabinetry cost?

Stainless is the most expensive outdoor kitchen cabinet finish. You're paying for marine-grade material, welded construction, and a lifetime product. Cost depends on brand, cabinet configuration, door style, and finish.

  • Is stainless steel hard to maintain outdoors?

The material is very low maintenance — it needs nothing to survive salt air, sun, and storms. Keeping it looking pristine is a different matter: in Florida's humidity, dust and grime cling to polished stainless, so it needs regular wiping to stay shiny.

  • Does powder coated stainless stay cleaner than bare stainless?

Somewhat. Powder-coated colors are a little easier to keep clean than bare polished stainless, but they don't hide dust and dirt either. We often recommend powder coat for Florida clients.

  • What is 316L marine grade stainless, and why does it matter?

316L is a marine-grade stainless alloy with superior corrosion resistance — it matters most near salt air. John Michael Kitchens uses 316L on exteriors with 304 stainless inside.

  • What's the difference between John Michael Kitchens and Danver?

Both are among the largest stainless outdoor cabinetry manufacturers in the USA and both build excellent product. John Michael is known for handcrafted marine-grade construction and clean, contemporary and shaker styling; Danver offers an exceptionally deep catalog of cabinet styles and sizes plus designer collections like Urbane and Cosmopolitan. HL Posey Builders is a dealer for both and will match you to the right one.

  • Can stainless cabinets be a color instead of silver?

Yes. Both manufacturers offer powder coat colors — a durable finish that won't scratch or peel like paint.

  • Does stainless steel outdoor cabinetry rust?

Marine-grade stainless is highly corrosion resistant and made for coastal environments. Surface spotting or grime is a cleaning matter, not rust.
